Camp Khanda is a week long summer experience designed to empower Sikh Youth through critical thinking and project based learning with a positive sense of community and a deeper understanding of Sikhism.
The aim is to inspire, empower, and teach campers how to become better members of their communities.
The Camp Khanda Morning Learning curriculum, which is comprised of Divaan, Sikh History, Gurbani, Kirtan classses, as well as selected workshops and discussions aims to empower, inspire, and help campers become better citizens and members of their community.
Recreation and sports time is scheduled for the afternoon. Activities include kabaddi, rock wall climbing, horse back riding, kayaking, archery, field games, hiking, and many others. Physical adventures are selected to foster team building, individual confidence, leadership, and just to have some fun.
Camp Khanda strives to create opportunities for the campers to learn more deeply and delve further into areas of interest and culture that they may not have exposure to. For 2018, we will be offering the following project based elective classes:
